Design assignments are killing me
Why does everyyyy company wants us to do their assignments, like WTF is my portfolio not enough of a proof of work for you? I worked my ass of on my portfolio. I apply to tons of company at the same time so if every company starts to give their assignment we will focking die with a mental illness

Ask them, if I can do Whiteboarding round.
Maybe you can be a fresher, so I don’t recommend to very choosy with this market conditions.
But in 2024, any company which gives assignment round is not worth joining for.
But yeah, if you don’t have any choice ignore this advice
Some companies are giving their clients work to do in a week time, and asks figma design link with full access, They will do the hand off and ghost you without giving any feedbacks
Yup it’s stupid and waste of time
Assignments are stupid and a waste of time. Sometimes they go as crazy as giving a hour limit for it, which we mostly overshoot to do the best we can.
White-boarding is definitely better to understand an applicant’s collaboration and design thinking skills.

And the worst part is they ghost you after submitting the assignment. Not rejection intimation no feedback nothing. All efforts go down the drain.
