Delhi: Where Breathing is the New Smoking

Who needs Marlboro when Delhi’s air gets you puffing the equivalent of 40 cigarettes a day for free?

Meanwhile South and NE over here with their almost 0 cigarettes, basically living in an air spa.

If you live in North India, you’re either building lung stamina or becoming a pro at involuntary smoking.

Cheers to clean air dreams!

This is the most important reasons why NCR was not on my list of cities to work in India.

Likewise — No to Delhi NCR

Mine too. Horrible pollution level, health is wealth. On top of this, so many other issues too.

I can understand Delhi /NCR/ Punjab/Haryana are shit holes. UP is facing the impact of bordering. But why is Bihar polluted. It doesn't have any industries, most Biharis are out of the state. logically Bihar should be pristine. Any pollution should be from khaini spits.

Not even from Bihar or in Bihar, but this person's ignorance and arrogance got on my nerve. They do have some talent

Farming. Stuble burning happens across the region.

I am in Delhi and currently working from home. Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe throat pain and lungs that felt like I'd smoked a lot of cigarettes. In the morning, I received my air purifier services and installed them.

I get that…I had a teammate in NCR who has been feeling same issues in throat. She finally got air purifier installed today

I think Maharashtra's AQI is also turning bad especially in the Mumbai and Pune region.

Pune unfortunately has poor AQI in all the major areas. The place where I stay - Air purifier is getting must to breathe properly as a lot of construction projects and traffic is around which creates a lot of dust particles... AQI in my area is always above 150.

Unfortunately not everyone understands the importance of breathing clean air. It will be too late (getting diagnosed with Asthama or other lung diseases) by the time people understand it.

Posting a pic of the ceiling fan - the condition of it in just 2 months. Pathetic.

Which area is this in Pune? I agree AQI is getting worse day by day but nothing compared to NCR. Also, construction is one of the major reasons I suppose otherwise I feel Pune has a decent tree cover.

Not sad but this should be a crime and residents should get compensated

Be grateful that there exists cities like Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Bangalore faces criticism just because some north indians think Hindi should be spoken all across India. Speak English in south and live happily

PrancingPotato
PrancingPotato

Nothing to be grateful for. One should not move cities just because of this. The govt should be thrown out and should be answerable. Let’s not utilise this to advocate the divide based on language.

It's a privilege for indian city to have clean air. Govt won't be thrown out. You will have more crowd for a movie release than protesting against pollution.

Reason for not keeping Delhi/NCR in the willing to relocate locations' list.
