I'm a data scientist and very disgruntled with my current team and manager. It's very clear I would not like to grow in my current team in the long run. A lateral move to another team wouldn't really benefit me (esp. my compensation). I've made a decision to skill up and look for opportunities outside.
For context -I am currently making 21lpa at a bank. I have about 2 years of work ex. When I joined my org two years ago, I was making about the same and so I've seen barely any salary growth in the last two years.
Questions:
Does the market pay higher than this for a data scientist with 2 years of experience? What companies to focus on?
What should I focus on to clear interviews? My current was through campus placement so I'm not very experienced with looking for jobs on my own.
