Confused Between Government Job & IT Career – A Bihar Boy’s Dilemma
I came from Bihar, where a government job is everything. It gives you respect. People will treat you like Donald Trump.
Recently, I got a job at TCS as a Graduate Trainee. I'm about to start my IT journey, but I haven’t received my joining yet.
When I meet people from my hometown, they make me feel like I’m not doing much. They don’t demotivate me, but they also don’t motivate me.
Sometimes I think that I should attempt exams like UPSC or BPSC. Here, some people are just UPSC aspirants, and they are treated like God.
I'm always confused between IT and government jobs. And I am not able to take any decision on my own.

Take a 10-min AI interview to qualify for numerous real jobs auto-matched to your profile 🔑So basically your dilemma is to decide if you should do something to get respect from the people of one of the most illiterate, backward and casteist state of this country .... 🤔 And btw before you shame me... I am myself from Madhubani....

No, I don’t want respect from anyone. When you have power, you can easily get respect. I just want power so that people treat me and my family with respect, because right now they don’t respect us since we don’t earn that much. When I see someone in a police uniform, people start respecting them, but they abuse them behind their backs. Btw, I’m from Barh, Patna.

Try to become politician, you can earn money and respect as well

Ye ek keeda hai, jo selection age limit paar hone tak nhi marega. Baki agar tumhe lagta hai you are capable then go for it.

Yeah, it’s the same as an addiction. I’ll give just 1–2 attempts, then I’ll know how capable I am.

Tum ganne ke khet mai lage raho bhai , kahe ka Dilemma…. Mooj karo 😀😀😀😀😀

I get what you’re trying to say, but I was only asking for advice. 🙃

If you belong to the GC, forget the gvmt job.
- You most likely wont get it
- Its not worth the effort.

I'm not from GC, but still they are getting jobs.
