Chennai tops GCC headcount growth in FY24; Hyderabad, Bengaluru follow

Chennai has emerged as the top city for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) headcount growth in FY24, adding nearly 95,000 employees over five years. - Hyderabad also outperformed Bengaluru, adding around 75,000 jobs compared to Bengaluru's 68,000. - Chennai's rise is attributed to its robust academic ecosystem and thriving industries. - Tamil Nadu plans to incentivize high-paying jobs in new GCCs with payroll subsidies. - Maharashtra's Mumbai and Pune each boast a GCC headcount exceeding 2 lakh, making it the only state with two such cities.
