The key here is transferrable skills. Learn as much as you can about what you want to do from the network and the internet. Start applying for entry level roles in that domain. Showcase your interest and sell your transferable skills in the interview. Get the job, grind for a year, learn as much as you can. If the appraisal is not sweet and you wish then switch. In the end what matters is what you want and not what people will think. All the best.
