My friend bought it last year. It's a great car. City mileage is worse vs Suzuki cars as they are made with lighter materials. So if safety, especially on highways is your priority then go ahead with Kushaq but for running expenses woth primarily city-only usage you can try other evergreen brands.

If your primary usage is city usage and you will definitely not take the car on the highway it's better to optimise for fuel efficiency. Typical cars like i20, Baleno, Altroz etc might be suitable both in terms of budget + efficiency. If safety is your top priority I would suggest going for Kushaq, you get a lot more features, safety and looks. Efficiency can be managed if your commute doesn't involve stagnant the likes of Bangalore traffic and long distances. EVs wouldn't suggest, as the current battery replacement costs make it a poor choice.

An unsolicited financial advice, go for a second hand purchase (if a car for you is just a need vs a life achievement). Also SUVs may look more appealing but are fuel guzzlers.

I bought 1L AT. I love the driving experience and sense of safety that it provides. If you are not a motor head the engine power is more than enough. I found the mileage to be not that great. (8-12) My friend has the 1.5 L version. It has better power output and mileage(12-16) as it has a feature to turn off 2 out of 3 cylinders.
Go for 1.5L if you are going to use your car a lot.

Any advice on prioritising safety along side mileage. Running would be about 60-70 Kms daily in Mumbai.
