Byjus founders AMA on Wednesday

Too many issues surrounding the company. Think it’s pretty brave of them to agree to being slaughtered in the open.

The AMA questions will be filtered toward the sustainability of the edtech sector to which the standard response will be “the sector shows no signs of decline 🤡”

I’m pretty sure controversial questions about the company will not be brought up at all.

This is most likely a branding tactic to “fix” their image.

Just curious. Are there any good engineers left in Byjus. Only people who could not get job anywhere else is remaining I suppose 😁

Aren't AMAs usually kinda staged and controlled? Especially AMAs like this?

Yes, it's a PR move to look more breedable to investors

Where is this being held and for which team? I'm in engg and have received no comms regarding this. Is it possible that they are only doing it with a group of selected people with predetermined questions 😅

Byjus debacle $ 22B to $ 1B.

If founders care more about customer then they don't have to bow infront of VCs.

BYJU's: Wasn't it always gonna happen?

I hear tales about how at their peak, BYJU's used to deal with investors. They would not share financials. If you wanted to invest, they'd ask you to come down to office, and only for that time, see whatever you want to see.

Investors...

This is major - Prosus just publically said that BYJU's had improper governance and failed to improve despite their recommendations

"BYJU’S grew considerably since our first investment in 2018, but, over time, its reporting and governance structures did not evolve sufficiently for a company of that scale. Despite repeated efforts from our Director, executive leadersh...
