Doesn't matter if creamy layer exists, so does discrimination at every level of society.
Very prevalent in housing and rentals, just need to ask around. Muslims often have it worse, entire societies in NCR flat out ban Muslim renters. And yet UC people expect others to adapt and integrate while doing nothing from their end.

Gujaratis are pretty racist to lower class, muslims and non vegetarians. Hell some of them would not even want to live around people from outside irrespective of caste/religion.
