Have a competing offer if possible. Gives you leverage
Focus on total comp, not just base. Ask for joining bonus, stocks etc
Be confident but polite. Explain why you deserve more
Research market rates. Use levels.fyi, glassdoor etc as reference
Don't push too hard as fresher. Building experience more important than few extra bucks
