Being in top 5% or 10%, I feel blessed.

Recently I came across a report in ToI that said earning 80 K per month puts you at top 4% in India. Assuming that the stats is true, do you feel contended with what you earn?

Way to make someone feel shitty 😑. Outside of metro cities 70k is very good money.

I believe this report is based on ITRs. Actual % could be much higher

Just imagine, even after being in top 4% of the country … we have to think thrice before buying a house or a car!

Its because the wealth is very unequally divided in this country. So a very small % of individuals have very large piece of that 4% pie. (and also thousands of rich don’t file ITR)

That’s why even after being in top 4%, it doesn’t make any significant difference.

Sadly with greater income, some lifestyle upgrades take place which sometimes put us into lower percentile 😕

Correction. It's actually 67 K per month or 8 lacs per annum earning puts you at top 4%.

I'd say ignore the negative comments. People can't be happy themselves, won't let others be happy either.

The actual percentage would be ~10%. Many hide their income. You can assume 4% in India earn 20 lac per annum easily. And 2% above 30 lac per annum.
