I recently shifted from Koramangala to a rented 2bhk in a gated society in HSR.
Coming from Koramangala, people were approachable...youngsters and family people alike. But here, I noticed people hardly talk to each other. No one is seen on morning or evening walks. Made me feel something is off.
Today, while speaking to a maid, she disclosed that most residents here are arrogant and very private. This society is middle class and not particularly rich.
Is this common in Bangalore societies? I was planning to buy a house in a society but have second thoughts now.

I have lived in societies in Mumbai. And families usually interact with each other.
Here, I don't expect others to interact with us. But where I am staying it's dead silent.. literally. People don't even get out of their own houses. There are kids but they are hardly seen playing in the evenings.
If not arrogant, it is quite weird.
I have seen similar case in gated communities located in other parts of city as well.
Mostly where techies stay, this kind of calm and peaceful ambience can be expected.
