Amazon Orders Staff Back to Office Five Days a Week
- Amazon has mandated that staff return to the office five days a week starting next year, one of the strictest post-pandemic policies in the corporate world.
- CEO Andy Jassy emphasized that in-office work enhances learning, collaboration, and cultural integration.
- Exceptions will be made for emergencies and specific projects requiring isolation.
- The company will end hot-desking in the US but continue it in Europe, affecting its 1.5 million employees.
- Amazon's strict policy contrasts with other tech companies like Google, which require only three days of in-office work.

Is this really true? I work with Amazon , but havenβt heard such a news yet or am I living in isolation π

I believe companies offering remote or location friendly policies will get good talent influx now.

You should be right but when it comes to it, most of us prioritise money on the table first.

Funny you think Amazon has good talent. In terms of talent in Bay Area, Amazon ranks pretty low. Their employees are considered hard working and diligent, but not brilliant or great.

I would say they should bring back telegram and hand written letters era. It will also reduce screentime and more time for innovation. All the high tech companies who are applying wfo after post pandemic have failed terribly in implementing the digitisation. I am not talking about manufacturing, constructions those industries. But when we are connecting with onshore clients by sitting in the office. Then what's the issue doing the same thing or continuing the same thing.

Alright, sending MPox there.
