AI and Development jobs
Guys I’m a software engineer with 2 years of experience learning Java springboot docker aws and other cloud related stuff too. I absolutely enjoy learn them and continue to learn something new everyday.
Recently I’ve been seeing interviews or podcasts where most of the experts out there are claiming AI will be replacing devs and jobs would reduce drastically.
This kinda scared me because I’m just starting out my career and it already feels finished.
Do I need to stop development?

there is recession definitely, hope this AI bubble will collapse with that so that we can have real picture on how much it will impact and till then companies will figure out impact in their work too
till then don’t worry you will not be alone getting affected, if affected you will figure out what else to do like how others will be affected
luckily we are young enough to mitigate if worse happens coz in your late 35 you will more stressfull to do anything new
just think like this positively

I am working closely with Gen AI , honestly speaking I don't think in the near future( 5-6 years) AI will replace developers . There are some points to consider:
- Cost associated with LLMs .
- Who will evaluate the LLM code , another LLM ? Evaluation and Accountability is still an issue not answered .
- Migration cost/ time/ effort from the current system to All hands AI system.
So don't worry , work on your craft and be adaptable . All the best!
