I want to switch my job because I am underpaid but at the same time I am little bit afraid by thinking What will happen in new organisation, in new team, new manager, new client, I have to prove again myself in front of my new team and my new manager etc.. What should I do? I am currently working as a Individual Contributor (IC) role with 9 YOE and having good rapo with my team and manager. And if I switch to new organisation, there won't be career option for me to go to management role (atleast for initial few years) Please suggest?
But I don't have experience in TL/Manager (people management), my entire 9 YOE is IC role with some exposure in mentoring resources
Also do u think outside openings would be there for TL/Manager role ? I don't think so because people give opportunity within their team members to promote instead of hiring outsiders.
Nothing like that, you can apply without experience. Also why you want to target Mgmt position directly? You could possibly get TL position after 1 yr in new company.
I spent 8 years in single company, after switch earning then one year salary now in 2 months. You should definitely switch for better pay.
