Advice Needed: Fourth-Year Student

From next week, I’ll be starting my 4th year of college, which also marks the beginning of the hiring season. I’ve enjoyed my three years here, but I realize that it’s a bit late to start focusing on placements. I’m from a tier-2 college, and honestly, I never received any advice from seniors or professors about how to prepare for getting a job.

My question is: is it too late for me to start now? If not, what steps can I take to secure a decent salary package so I won’t be a financial burden on my parents? For context, I’m pursuing a B.Tech in Information Technology without any main specialization. I know the core subjects well enough to pass exams and possibly clear MCQ-based interview tests. I’m familiar with C, Java, and Python, but in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), I haven’t progressed much beyond arrays. I also have some basic knowledge of front-end development.

I would really appreciate any guidance or advice you can offer to help me prepare and increase my chances of getting a good job. Thank you!
