Have heard from a friend that people are being put on PIP. Profitable teams like sales etc are safe and non profitable teams/products(is there any such product at Adobe?) are at risk.

Do you mean customer facing teams? In that ways also the product is important. Profitability is at at product, or business unit or firm level. Not department level
