43 LPA in Bangalore will equate to how much in Germany / Ireland / Netherlands?

A salary of 43 LPA in Bangalore will equate to how much salary in euros (in germany / ireland / netherlands) purely on monetary terms?

Consider that:

  1. I want similar std of living in both places
  2. Want to save same amount annually - in absolute terms, not in terms of purchasing power

Netherlands has tax exemption for expert professionals.

So, 90k with 30% ruling would be around 5700-5900 in hand roughly.

Now, costs 1000-1200 euro for bachelor rent, 1000 utilities, 100 euro transport, 500 miscellaneous.

Saving around 3000 euros per month. So around 3 lakhs per month. Cut one visit to country, 2 EU country trips - shouldn’t exceed 5-6 lakhs overall. So savings around 30 lakhs.

Now India : 43 LPA salary means around 2.6-2.7 lakhs per month. Your rent, transport and utilities take away around 50-60k per month, 10-20k miscellaneous. 2 trips in India - around 1 lakh.

So, savings around 22-24 lakhs per year.

Already 90k Dutch salary beating Indian salary by 5-10 lakhs if you are disciplined.

The gap will increase if you have a family since we pay taxes like USA to receive services like Somalia.

Family calculations(Husband, Wife, 1 child) Netherlands: 1800-2000 Rent, 1500 utility(food or all req included), 200 transport, free school, free healthcare for children in Dutch medium schools. For international schools, in ranges from 500-800 euro(depends). You can’t do random visits that frequent since you need to stay in the house more to get the work done.

So, around 1500 euro savings per month. Around 18 lakhs per year. Post travel to India once and one trip, it would be around 12 lakhs.

India: Rent 40-45k, Utilities and transport around 30-40k, child education and healthcare around 30-35k per month. Outing - 20-30k. Savings - 1.2-1.3L per month. Now, visit and trips will make it to 12-13 lakhs.

So, both very close. Now if you decide to teach your kids in Dutch school, you can save 50k more per month, adding a whooping 6L per year.

Very well summed up, I did my own research a while back and this is the exact conclusion i came up with.

One thing I would like to add here, which for some (me as well) is the biggest advantage of being in EU is you can now afford EU trips more easily as compared to when in India. Might save a bit less but atleast you're exploring EU, which from India would be 2x-3x.

To maintain a similar lifestyle and meaningful savings in mentioned countries, you need atleast 120K pre-taxes.

Depends on experience, skills, technology.. but yes companies pay this much..

90-100 might also work for you depending on your lifestyle, family, kids, travel, age etc

In India, for 43 LPA, you pay tons of tax that gets translated to potholes on the road, being stuck in traffic minimum of 2 hours daily, shitty public transport also filled like cattle wagon, only to have no WLB due to no mandated holidays or mandated work hours and then get screamed at by a p** as a boss. You also get no safety, no security from police or govt, if you get robbed please be ready to pay your annual income to the gundas in police, corruption for everything from state to centre, people at every corner with no civic sense ready to loot you for something as basic as correcting an electricity bill, leave even thinking of what to pay when buying a house.

Think of all these also before you do a direct translation of salary. People might live in high class apartments in BLR, but this is the reality for even the MDs of the companies here.

You would need <90k because the basic things that you have to pay for in India are already free

43lpa if converted would be around 40k euros but the standard of living cost is higher in this countries

What is important is how much one can save in absolute terms

You have to see PPP. That defines the standard of living and savings. Just converting currencies is a stupid childish mistake which low lives moving to Canada and banking on exchange rate do.

You can't have the same lifestyle and spend the same.

As you might have realised, India has more salary than Europe. Don't try to find justification for what you want by deliberately ignoring that fact for feeling better. Just take the hard pill, you should make the conscious decision to take a PPP pay cut to move if you really want to move.

Use numbeo website and add 20% to that number for safer side

I don't want a PPP based answer. I want to know savings comparison in absolute terms

From the entire thread, I can clearly see why govt/businessman can loot us. People are dumb, ignorant and don’t have a single ounce of idea of the money they spend. No wonder Ankur chutiyaroo and Finance with moron are treated Gods here. Financial literacy is so imp, and leads and VPs are the worst in it.

All I can see is bullshit PPP. Trust me, it is bullshit. First learn to categorise your take home salary, key expenses, buffer and then compare.
